  • Our Story
When Rhonda Stapleton, Samaritan Village's founder, moved to Orlando she bought a house right off of Orange Blossom Trail. People told her she was crazy. But she knew it was her calling to reach out to women in desperate situations. Through her unique position she was able to connect with women on the streets and learn more about the great need they had for a safe place. Samaritan Village, Inc. launched in 2009 as a transitional home for survivors of sexual exploitation and chemical dependency. Rhonda saw the first round of ladies through our home, Ruth's House, before retiring.

In the summer of 2014 we brought on our new Executive Director, Christina Walker, and went through an intensive season of strategic planning and intentional prayer. It became clear that God's plan for this ministry was to address the specific needs of survivors of human trafficking in our area. Since that time we have developed a holistic, trauma-informed care model program that helps survivors heal. So far we've been able to reach 6 women, and we feel so strongly that God is leading us to grow. We envision communities where all women live free from sexual exploitation and human trafficking - help us see that vision come true!
