Is Samaritan Village right for you or your loved one? Here are some frequently asked questions and their answers to help you make an informed decision.
Where is Samaritan Village located?
While our physical address is not publicly disclosed for safety reasons, Samaritan Village is located in Orlando, FL.
How old do you have to be to enter the program?
Samaritan Village is equipped to work with adult women, age 18 and up. Emancipated teenagers should contact us for further discussion.
Do I have to be a Christian to come to Samaritan Village?
No. Women from all faith (or no faith) backgrounds are welcome. You should expect, however, that our teaching is based on biblical principles. Christ is at the very center of our beliefs and values. All participants are required to attend all elements of our program--no exceptions.
Are children allowed to be with their mothers?
We are not licensed for children to reside onsite. Children are encouraged to be a part of regular communication and weekly visitation.
How do I apply?
Click on "Contact Us" for more information on how to receive an application. Women who are incarcerated may request an application from their chaplain, case manager or program manager. All applicants will be interviewed prior to being admitted to Samaritan Village. Applying does not necessarily guarantee intake.
How long is the program?
The residential phase is a minimum of 9 months. Each woman's recovery will vary somewhat depending upon her circumstances.
Nine months is a long time. What if I can't commit to that timeframe?
If you are unable to set aside 9 months for your recovery, our program might not be right for you. Remember, your life is at stake. Nine months isn't such a long time when you think about the outcome.
How much does it cost?
There is a $125 non-refundable intake fee. The residential program fees are $100/wk.
What if I don't have money or a job?
We will do everything we can to make Samaritan Village work for you if your application is accepted. Scholarships are available for the intake period for women who cannot afford to pay. Once employed, a resource coordinator will work with you to create an individual budget for all of your financial obligations and to save money for subsequent phases of recovery.
I'm on probation. Am I eligible to come to Samaritan Village?
Yes. We will work with you and your probation officer to make sure you meet the requirements of your probation. You are responsible for your own probation and court fees and for keeping up with your appointments. Probation violations will result in termination from Samaritan Village. Likewise, if you choose to leave Samaritan Village, your probation officer will be notified.
Can I be court-ordered to Samaritan Village?
We are not directly linked with the judicial system, but if you are being court-ordered to a program you can request Samaritan Village IF a vacancy exists. You are responsible for fulfilling the requirements of your sentence and for paying your court costs. Any violations will result in termination from Samaritan Village. Likewise, if you choose to leave Samaritan Village, your actions will be reported to the judge who sentenced you.
My loved one is living on the streets and is actively abusing drugs/alcohol. Can I bring her to Samaritan Village?
We are not equipped as a detox facility. She can apply for admittance, pending successful detoxification. Residents must willingly come to Samaritan Village. No one is required to stay at Samaritan Village against her will. Click on "Resources" for more options.
Do you allow smoking?
Smoking is permitted in designated areas.
Can I have my own car at Samaritan Village?
